attractions and directions

CONWY
The walled town of Conwy is the perfect place to visit for a variety of attractions. The castle itself dates back to the 13th Century and is a lovely place to visit and enjoy a walk around the town walls. There is a vast array of quaint shops and a wide selection of restaurants and cafes for food lovers! The annual food festival every October is well worth a visit too.

LLANDUDNO
A short drive away from Gorse Hill is the lovely Victorian coastal town of Llandudno where you can enjoy an ice-cream by the sea! There is also a retail park for the shopaholics and, as with Conwy, a variety of cafes and restaurants to try. It is also worth visiting the Great Orme, the view from the top is breathtaking!

SURROUNDING AREA
Betws-Y-Coed is another short drive from Gorse Hill and is a great place for walking and hiking. It is the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park and has stunning scenery. If you are a thrillseeker, you will love the Treetop Adventure centre on the outskirts of Betws-Y-Coed with a great selection of outdoor activities including high ropes courses.

The small village of Rowen boasts lovely water gardens. The nature walk there enables you to see and feed a variety of wildlife, including otters and birds. There is also a coarse fishing lake and reptile house for those feeling brave! And if you’ve built up an appetite on the nature walk, there is a Dutch Pancake House which serves the most delicious sweet and savoury pancakes!

A short drive away is the town of Llanberis which boasts a variety of attractions. If a walk up Snowdon seems a bit like hard work, you can travel by train from Llanberis right to the top of the mountain. There is also the Llanberis Lake Railway which travels across the valley through beautiful woodland. The slate mines and National Slate Museum are also well worth a visit.

To find Gorse HIll Caravan & Lodge Park, eave the A55 towards Conwy, travel across the bridge towards Conwy with the Castle on your left. At the mini roundabout take the first exit (B5106) which goes under the Castle Arch. Follow the road for approximately 1.5 miles. You will find us on the left just after Conwy Touring Park.
