Caravan Park Details

Castlerigg Hall Caravan & Camping Park occupies one of the finest positions in the north of England overlooking Derwentwater with breathtaking views of the surrounding fells. Our west facing location above Keswick provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy dramatic sunsets from your pitch. Touring caravan pitches are always on hard standing each with electric, water and drainage point. The tent field is separate to the tourers with its own facility block. Caravans are available for hire, all rooms are heated and most with balcony.

Our new heated amenity block built in the style of two traditional Lakeland barns provide an increased range and improved standard of facilities.



The ?Lakers Lounge? with its oak trussed roof, old fashioned cow stalls has views over Derwentwater is the perfect place to plan your itinerary, relax and read from our book swap corner, or just play cards and games. Linked to this room is the camper?s kitchen providing facilities to do your own cooking. The shop offers a wide range of goods whilst ?The Hungary Hiker? breakfaster room is the place to go in the morning for a hearty English breakfast to set you up for a days walk on the fells.

For the children there is a games room with table tennis and pool table.

Other facilities include laundrette, shower/toilet for the disables, bathroom, telephone, gas exchange and tourist information centre at the reception.



We are situated in the countryside and like to encourage as much wildlife as possible. The site participates in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards, which are held each year, and we have achieved a gold award for continuing commitment for conservation and the environment.

Deer may frequently be seen from the caravan terraces along with badgers and red squirrels. We have several nesting boxes for birds and bats!

The site is home to two pet pot bellied pigs ?Boris & Lulu? and we have given a new lease of life to several x-battery hens!
