Caravan Park Details

Thirkleby Hall Holiday Home Park includes a lake and woodlands within the private grounds of Thirkleby Hall. The well screened Park enjoys magnificent views of the Hambledon Hills and the "White Horse" in the hillside. A resident Manager lives on the Park all year to assist you in the summer and look after your holiday home in the winter. All main services are connected to each holiday home. The Park is also licensed for Tourers and Tents.

Thirsk attractions and directions

Thirkleby Hall is located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, deep in Herriot country. The Park is three miles from the market town of Thirsk and nineteen miles from the ancient walled city of York and its world famous Minster.



Local Entertainments & Attractions inlcude York - the 13th century walled city and world famous Minster, museums and Cliffords Tower. Harrogate, an Old Spa Town. Danby - The Moors Centre has 553 square miles of beautiful countryside of moors, rivers and lakes.



Vists nearby Stately Homes such as Beningbrough Hall, Sutton Park, Newby Hall & Gardens, Lotherton Estate, Nunnington Hall, Sion Hill Hall, Castle Howard (the setting for Brideshead Revisited). Or beautiful gardens - Harlow Carr, Ripley, Burnby Hall, Duncombe Park, Gilling, Thorp Perrow Arboretum, and the Helmsley Walled Garden.



Local Heritage Sites include Middleham Castle, Pipley Castle, Helmsley Castle, Byland Abbey, Rievaulx Abbey, Bolton Abbey, Jervaulx Abbey, Mount Grace Priory, Selby Abbey, Whitby Abbey, Kirkham Priory, Fountains Abbey, and the Aldborough Roman Site.

Enjoy a round of golf at York, Easingwold, Wetherby, or Harrogate. Or watch the Horse Racing at York, Thirsk, Wetherby, and Ripon.

There are many varied restaurants within easy reach. Bettys famous tea-rooms in York and Harrogate; Harry Ramsdens (Fish & Chips) at Guisely.



Make a coastal trip to Scarborough, Whitby and Bridlington or just enjoy walking in the Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales.


From the East, South and west follow the signs to York. At York follow the A19 signposted to Thirsk, and after thirteen miles turn right through two lodge gatehouses into the Park drive (3 miles before Thirsk). From the North follow the signs to North Allerton. At North Allerton, follow the A168 to Thirsk and the A19 to York. Bear left 3 miles after Thirsk towards Thirkleby. Turn left through two lodge gatehouses into the Park drive (3 miles before Thirsk).
