Caravan Park Details
Strathyre lies among the scenic lochs and mountains of the Trossachs in Scotland???s first National Park. The site is at the heart of Rob Roy country and overlooked by Ben Ledi, which rises steeply to 879 metres (2,882ft) behind the cabins and is snow-covered in winter.
Strathyre is the ideal base for hillwalking at all levels of difficulty, from a gentle stroll on the shores of Loch Lubnaig to a vigorous hike to the summit of Ben Ledi ??? take a boat trip on Loch Katrine ??? visit the grave of Rob Roy MacGregor at Balquhidder ??? enjoy water-skiing or sailing on nearby Loch Earn.
The tree-clad slopes that sweep down dramatically to the shores of Loch Lubnaig change from spring fresh greens to warm autumn russets making Strathyre the perfect destination all year round.
Callander attractions and directions
From Callandar, take the A84 towards Crianlarich, for 2.5 miles. The site is signposted left. Turn right immediately after crossing the river and follow the private road along the lochside for 1 mile.
Note that there is a barrier on the lochside road, to maintain the privacy of the site. This is open from 4-6pm for new arrivals, and you will be given a key to use during your stay.
