Durham Caravan Parks

Caravan Park Details

Managed by the Club on behalf of Durham City Council, this is an open and level site with cheerful beds of heather at the entrance, just off the A1(M) and within easy reach of the City of Durham. Many visitors use this as a convenient stop over en route to or from Scotland and its situation makes it a welcome break. But if you decide to stay longer, Durham is only three miles away, dramatically set on its 70-foot rocky semi-island in a hairpin bend of the River Wear. Its steeped in history and the panoramic views from every vantage point must make it one of the most picturesque cities in the UK. For walkers, the County Council arranges a series of guided walks - theres a useful leaflet.

From N or S on A1(M) - turn off via slip rd & rndabt onto A690 (sp Durham), moving immed to outside lane of dual cway to turn R in 50yds at Intl Caravan Site sign into Meadow Lane. Site ent ahead.

All other routes (A167, A690, A691) - on approaching Durham city follow sps A690, A1(M); 1??m after beg of A690 dual cway (just before mway) turn L at Intl Caravan Site sign into Meadow Lane. Site ent ahead.

Note: because of its convenient location just off the A1(M), some road noise can be expected.
