Wincanton is a small market town ideally located for touring the region and this is a comparatively unvisited area which merits a closer look if you like a quiet holiday. The list of places to visit is endless in this lush landscape of Somerset farmland stretching through the Blackmore Vale into Dorset. Do visit Shaftesbury, a town with a considerable past and one of the most photographed streets in Dorset - the steep and cobbled Gold Hill, home of the Hovis bread advertisement. Sherborne is also an exceptionally beautiful country town with a large number of medieval buildings.

From W on A303 - do not turn off at sp Wincanton Town Centre; take next exit (sp Wincanton Racecourse, caravan sign); then as above.
