Caravan Park Details

A very popular site, level and on the banks of the Ouse, within easy walking distance of the beautiful and historic city of York and a good base to explore Yorkshire. York is a feast - theres so much to see youll find the days slipping past before you go anywhere else. Visit the lovely Minster with its dazzling stained glass windows and walk the City Walls and the Shambles to get a feel of the old city and its medieval timber-framed houses. Then call at the Jorvik Viking Centre (it gets very busy at peak times) and take a time-car transporting you back to the citys distant past - sights, sounds and smells! And if you have any budding archaeologists in the family, visit the ARC in St Saviours Church, where you can handle real finds and pottery remains. For train enthusiasts of all ages, dont miss the award-winning Railways Museum.

York attractions and directions

The only recommended route avoiding the city centre, speed humps, low bridges etc is from the A64 south of York as follows:



Turn off A64 (Tadcaster - York) onto A19 (sp York Centre); do not turn onto A1237 (A19 Thirsk) before x-ing rv; in about 2 miles join the one way system sign posted city centre; keep left at Mecca Bingo and continue over rv bridge; in about 200 yards immed before Swan PH turn left at intl caravan sign; in about 250 yards turn right at rv into Terry Avenue. Site on right in 1/4 mile. Care and Consideration of other traffic is needed on this narrow approach road. NB: The Late night arrivals area is very small and doubles as the site car park. Please time your arrival after 12 noon. Arrivals before 12 noon MUST be agreed with the warden prior to arrival.
