Haycraft is the perfect base to explore the unique and historic towns and picturesque villages of Dorset. It is ideal for walkers as there are numerous public footpaths and coastal walks nearby. For beach lovers, the site is five miles from the safe sandy beach at Swanage and the glorious stretch of golden sands at Studland Bay is within seven miles. There is easy access to Poole Harbour, Bournemouth, Dorchester, Weymouth and the National Trusts Brownsea Island, home to the red squirrel. The magnificent Swanage Light Railway is situated just a few minutes walk away, allowing you the opportunity to see special locomotives from time to time, which include the Flying Scotsman and Thomas the Tank Engine - a great favourite with young and old alike. This peaceful and tranquil site is perfect if you are looking for a small and selective holiday destination.

From Dorchester on A352 - at rndabt on oskirts of Wareham turn R onto A351 (sp Swanage); in 6??m at Harmans Cross turn R just before filling stn into Haycrafts Lane (sp Downshay). Site ent on L in ??m.

From Southampton on A31 - at junc with A350 turn L onto A350 (sp Wareham); in 3??m turn R onto A35 (sp Dorchester, Bere Regis); in 1??m at rndabt turn L onto A351 (sp Wareham); in 11m at Harmans Cross turn R just before filling stn; then as above.
