A waterside site, right in the heart of Bristols beautifully re-developed dockland, linked in the summer by a river ferry to the city centre, with its lively shops and entertainments. The Industrial Museum houses the first purpose built caravan, The Wanderer, built in 1880 for The Clubs eventual first vice-president; the Bristol Jupiter aero engine, cars, buses, lorries and a replica of Concordes flight deck. For families there is the Zoo and the Downs Park, a safe place for young children to play in and an ideal picnic spot.

Bristol attractions and directions

No arrivals before 12 noon

From M5 - leave at junc 18 onto A4 (sp Bristol); in abt 5m (after passing under Clifton Suspension Bridge) keep in L lane and foll sp Historic Harbour, SS Gt Britain into Hotwells Rd. Keep in R lane at traff lts and thro Hotwells (sp Historic Harbour, SS Gt Britain). After passing over pedestrian crossing use L lane. Pass over dock bridge and foll sp SS Gt Britain. Site on L in abt 500yds.

From M4 - at M4/M5 interchange (junc 20) foll M5 South West; leave at junc 18; then as from M5 above.

From S on A370 or A38 - on dual cway keep in R lane sp City Centre. Continue in R lane over swing bridge to traff lits, Hotwells Rd. Then as from M5 above.

From E or SE on A4 or A37 - at rndabt abt 400yds past A4/A37 junc turn L (sp M5, A370 Weston, A38 Taunton); in ??m at rndabt 3rd exit turn into rd sp General Hospital, SS Gt Britain; in abt 400yds at T-junc turn L into Cumberland Rd (sp Baltic Wharf, SS Gt Britain). Site on R in abt ??m.
