In the heart of walking country, our Crowden Club Site is at the end of a taxing stretch of the Pennine Way, 15 miles from Edale. It has views of the Peak District National Park and hosts falcons, eagles and red kites.



Crowden is the perfect Site for walkers in the Dark Peak region of the Peak District National Park. The Longendale Trail ??? on the old Woodhead railway line ??? passes several reservoirs and is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. There is a pub serving food at Tintwhistle, three and a half miles from Site. A cycle route continues from there into Hadfield, the real ???Royston Vasey??? from the BBC series The League of Gentlemen. Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield are less than an hour???s drive away. Explore urban culture and the cities of today and tomorrow at Urbis, one of Manchester???s newest attractions, or visit the Museum of Science and Industry in the oldest passenger railway buildings in the world. Castleton in the Hope Valley is home to several caverns, including the Blue John ??? named after the local mineral ??? Speedwell and Treak Cliff. Trains run from Hadfield into Manchester. Holmfirth, the famous location for Last of the Summer Wine, has several tea rooms and was originally a cotton spinning area. Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are fascinating stately homes. The Site shop holds provisions and supplies for walkers.
