Two miles west of Braunton are Braunton Burrows, the largest area of sand dunes in England. Now a national nature reserve it is perfect for those interested in wildlife and is the home of much rare flora and fauna. The championship 18 hole golf course at Saunton is just over a mile away and other popular activities in this area of outstanding natural beauty are windsurfing, horse riding, rock climbing, water skiing, surfing and fishing. There are also magnificent walks to many of the local beauty spots.
